What Do I Do If I Have Sciatica

Let me first start by telling you what sciatica pain is. Sciatica is usually caused by swelling of the sciatic nerve and / or irritation of the nerve from disc problems, misaligned spines and tight muscles and muscle spasms. The sciatica nerve is actually the biggest in the body. It starts at the lower part of your spine travels through your buttocks and then through your leg all the way down to your foot.

Sciatica can feeling like a burning searing pain from your back and into your buttock and leg and into your foot. It can also feel like a sharp stabbing pain. This pain can be so bad that it keeps you in bed for quite some time.

Sciatica can be caused by strenuous physical activity whether at work or playing or by simply twisting or lifting the wrong way.

There are several exercises that work well for relieving your pain but you should always see your Doctor or Chiropractor before doing anything to get rid of your pain. More often than not sciatica can be caused by disc herniations and this condition is nothing to play around with so if you do have sciatica pain - go to your Doctor immediately and get a proper evaluation and diagnosis.
